Student Exchange and Credit Recognition with Domestic Universities
Credit Exchange
Credit exchange allows students to earn credits from regular-semester or summer/winter session courses offered by other domestic universities that have entered into an academic exchange or credit exchange agreement with the University.
Eligibility
- Currently enrolled students who have completed at least one academic year
- Students who have not been subject to disciplinary action under University regulations. Students who have received an academic warning must not have received such a warning in the immediately preceding semester.
Tuition and Fees
- Regular Semester : Settled between the participating universities and covered by the University
- Summer/Winter Session : Paid directly by the student to the host university
Credit Limit
- Credits may be recognized up to one-half of the total credits required for graduation.
- Students may apply for up to 6 credits per semester. However, a different limit may apply depending on the terms of the relevant agreement.
Application Procedure
Complete the Credit Exchange Recommendation Form available under University Website → Campus Life → Forms and Resources → Credit Exchange Recommendation Form.
After obtaining approval from the relevant department, including designation of the credit classification and confirmation from the academic advisor and department chair, submit the form to the Academic Affairs Team.
In addition to the credits registered for at the host university, students must register for at least 1 credit at the University during the same semester. This requirement does not apply to summer or winter sessions.
Grade Processing
- Grades earned at a host university through the credit exchange program are converted according to the University’s grading standards. The converted grades are included in both the semester GPA and cumulative GPA and are calculated together with grades earned from courses taken at the University.
- Course Classification : Courses may be recognized as major courses or general electives in accordance with the curriculum of the relevant department or major. They cannot be recognized toward a minor, double major, or interdisciplinary major.
- Credit will not be granted for a course that is equivalent to a course already completed at the University. A course taken through credit exchange may only be retaken at the host university.
