The History Education is the only department established among national and public universities located in Incheon. When Incheon National University was newly launched as the integrated Incheon National University in 2010, it received approval from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to establish the department and accepted its first students in 2011.

Moving forward, with the goal of fostering outstanding history teachers and talent in related fields, we will provide substantial education covering the content necessary for history education, ranging from general history—including historical theory, Korean history, East Asian history, and Western history—to theories of history education and teacher training subjects. Furthermore, in addition to regular classes, we will conduct annual field trips to cultivate the qualities of prospective history teachers in actual historical sites.

Furthermore, the study of history at the university will provide a foundation for fostering historians with the proper historical consciousness required by our society, as well as the qualities of history teachers.
