Introduction
Electrical engineering is an academic discipline responsible for the foundational technologies of all fields related to "electrical energy," the driving force of national industry and public welfare, as well as information technology, home appliances, and manufacturing. As such, it exerts a truly profound influence in every era, spanning from industry, culture, and art to cutting-edge technology. Even so-called advanced information technology, which sparked the information revolution and transformed the global village into a single information sphere today, is based on the development of electrical engineering that facilitates the use of electricity in all fields. Consequently, the social role and mission of electrical engineers are of paramount importance, and society strictly demands the faithful fulfillment of their responsibilities.
With the realization of these social propositions as its guiding goal, the Dept. of Electrical Engineering has set its top priority as the production of new technologists for the future advanced society who will serve the development of national industry and the improvement of public welfare. The workforce required due to the upcoming environmental changes in the advanced industries of the future consists of professional technologists equipped with information technology capabilities necessary for analyzing and operating cutting-edge applied technologies, based on an understanding of the structure of the electrical engineering industry and existing expertise in the field.
Therefore, the Department is currently equipped with a high-level faculty and state-of-the-art experimental equipment, and focuses its education on acquiring a wide range of basic electrical engineering concepts and cultivating the ability to develop and apply rational and original technologies in response to the complexity and diversification of science and technology.
