Incheon National University marked a new beginning when it was converted into a national university corporation on January 18, 2013, and has since focused on creating and disseminating knowledge that can lead change. Since its establishment as a college in 1979, the University has undergone a series of major transformations: it was elevated to comprehensive university status in 1988, converted into a municipal university in 1994, relocated its entire campus in 2009 to a 458,508㎡ state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly, intelligent, and user-centered campus in Songdo International City, merged with Incheon City College in 2010, and became a national university corporation in January 2013. Through these dynamic changes and successful reforms, Incheon National University has continued to grow and develop as one of the most progressive institutions in the history of higher education in Korea. Located at the heart of Songdo, one of Northeast Asia’s most prominent advanced international cities, Incheon National University will firmly establish itself as a leading national university that shapes global intellectual discourse through innovation in education, research, and administration.
