Professor Seung-Taek Kang of the Department of Information and Telecommunication Engineering, Incheon National University, alongside the official poster for ICEE 2026

Incheon National University (President Lee In-jae) announced that Professor Seung-Taek Kang of the Department of Information and Telecommunication Engineering has been appointed as the Organizing Committee Chair for ICEE (International Council on Electrical Engineering) 2026, a premier international academic body in electrical engineering and power technology. Consequently, Professor Kang will lead and oversee all preparations and operations for the upcoming ICEE 2026 event.

Professor Kang currently serves as the Director of the Wave and Satellite Information Technology Research Center (ITRC), designated by the Ministry of Science and ICT. As a leading authority in wireless communications and power transmission, he has spearheaded academic advances as Chair of the Microwave and Radio Wave Propagation Research Group at the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS) and Chair of the Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Waves Research Group at the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE).

ICEE 2026, under Professor Kang’s leadership, aims to advance applied technologies in electromagnetics, electromagnetic waves, and microwave engineering—key components of wireless communication and power transmission. Furthermore, the conference will integrate discussions on core electrical engineering agendas, including power transmission and distribution, energy conversion, power electronics, power resource management, control and automation, and mobility. The outcomes will be shared with domestic and international academia, industry, government entities, and relevant organizations establishing energy policies, such as Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).

ICEE 2026 will take place from Sunday, July 5, to Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Seoul.

Professor Kang expressed his ambitions, stating, "My appointment as Organizing Committee Chair and the successful hosting of ICEE 2026 will serve as a meaningful opportunity to widely demonstrate to the public Incheon National University's prominent role in South Korea's electrical and electronic engineering applications."
