Incheon National University - Unification and Security Convergence Institute MOU for Academic Exchange and Research in National Security

Anticipation of Strengthening Unification and Security Convergence Capabilities through Cooperation in Academic Exchange and Professional Education

Incheon National University announced on July 6 that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Unification and Security Convergence Institute for the development of the national security and unification sectors and the fostering of professional talent.

The agreement ceremony on this day was attended by key officials from both institutions, including Incheon National University President Lee In-jae, Vice President for Planning Lee Jun-han, Dean of International Affairs and Public Relations Hong Jin-bae, and Executive Director of the Incheon National University Development Fund Yoon Byung-jo, as well as Unification and Security Convergence Institute President Kim Jun-seop, Principal Researcher Ji Na-in, Senior Researcher Kim Young-hoon, and Sisa World CEO Lim Jin-soo.

This agreement was promoted to strengthen academic exchange and research cooperation for national security and unification policies and the development of a peaceful national community, and to lay the foundation for fostering talent equipped with professional capabilities in the unification and security sector.

According to the agreement, both institutions plan to promote academic exchange and research on national security and unification policies and the development of a peaceful national community, and various other cooperative projects for the development and promotion of friendship between the two institutions.

In particular, this agreement is expected to strengthen the academic foundation in the national security and unification policy sectors by linking the university's educational and research capabilities with the experience of a specialized institution in the unification and security sector, and to contribute to fostering convergence-type professional talent capable of responding to the changing security environment.

President Lee In-jae stated, "This agreement is highly significant in that it has laid a foundation for cooperation for the development of the national security and unification policy sectors by combining the university's educational and research capabilities with the experience of a specialized institution in the unification and security sector." He added, "We will continue to make efforts to contribute to fostering professional talent capable of responding to the future security environment and the development of a peaceful Korean Peninsula through continuous academic exchange and cooperation."

President Kim Jun-seop stated, "The national security and unification sectors are areas that require systematic research and education converging various academic disciplines and expertise." He added, "With this agreement as an opportunity, we will strengthen the academic research and professional education sectors and create practical results that can contribute to the development of the unification and security sector and the settlement of peace on the Korean Peninsula."
